RAFALE-X ready for take off

The RAFALE-X is an interceptor aircraft with stealth capabilities, to the point that it is invisible to radar. It is powered by two incredibly powerful 130-DOH-61-LA high-bypass turbo-ramjet engines that permit flight at hypersonic speeds, but their exhaust gives the RAFALE-X a prominent infrared signature.

In addition to these massive engines, six solid rocket boosters were augmented to give an additional 15,900 pounds of thrust. The RAFALE-X most famous feature is its a thought-control interface through a semi-artificially intelligent computer called the Advanced Neural Transfer And Response System , which uses signals from the pilot's brain to target enemies and fire weapons; however, it only responds to commands thought in Kecek Kelate.

The RAFALE-X weapons consist of up to four air-to-air missiles (modified for thought guidance), two 23 mm cannons, and four Rear Defense Pods on the wings, which fire explosive charges at a pursuing aircraft or missile. Other capabilities of the Firefox include a 3,000-mile (4,800 km) range and a flight ceiling over 120,000 feet (37,000 m).

To give the pilot full situational awareness the aircraft also includes a camera system that allows the pilot to see images directly behind the aircraft on his console. Pilot uses this system during his flight to keep track of missiles and other aircraft pursuing him.

At LIMA 2011 air show in Malaysia, Dassault released a set of imagery from an apparent engagement between the Rafale and the Lockheed Martin F-22. One of the images have beenreleased before, and it came from the sort-of-friendly fighter jet show-down in November 2009 at Al Dhafra AB, United Arab Emirates.

Sub Inspector Sazali Samad was promoted from the rank Sergeant Major. Hes a COP. Well that really blows me away. I didn't see that coming.Sub-inspector is a rank used primarily based on the British model. It was formerly used in most British colonial police forces and in certain British police forces as well. The rank usually was in charge of a police substation or assisted an inspector. I dont know what his role though.. will he be in charge of a station? or will he be use to KICK CRIMINAL ASS?

Agensi Angkasa Negara propose Advance Intercontinental Reentry Sub Orbital Fighter Transport (AIRSOFT :-} )

Kuangkuit 1 is, as a part of Kumbang Busuk rocket family, an expendable launch system used to deliver payloads into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) or low Earth orbit (LEO). AAN after a successful collaboration with RMAF to sent SahakSAT Satellite to space, propose another advance project.

The propose of this project are to study the feasibility to transport a squadron of RMAF fighter jet anywhere in the world while reducing risk of being shot down.

Two SU-30MKM can be mounted using a AIRSOFT carrier. Three SU-30MKM are possible depending on size using AIRSOFT 3 carrier. Up to eight secondary payloads, usually UCAV, can be carried with an ASAP (Airsoft Structure for Auxiliary Payloads) platform.

i personally wish Malaysian defense budget to be increase.... i heard quite the opposite, which spells bad news for some of the much needed procurement in the armed forces.

Seriously the country defense are very important, if you guys heard some wise people who said the defense spending are not important simply because Malaysia doesn't have enemy, he is so dead wrong. We have enemies, they are coiling like springs ready to pounce, preparing and planning, they are cunning and they have motives. THEY ARE WAITING FOR US TO MAKE A BAD MOVES.

Like what had happened previously with the price tag of RM 6 billion...some buggers demands for answer on why oh why the SGPV-LCS now had a price tag of RM 9 billion...instead of announced RM 6 million previously....

from the nook and cranny of Arkib Negara...using the latest spy bugs...incorporating yoktotechnology which surpassed nano and the awan nano-nano....here are a few good reasons why the SGPV-LCS programme were damn expensive gile..

1. stealth technology

for sure you cant see the ship...the cloaking field is on ok...

you might think the angled hull that will reflects the radar wave...the low IR signature...the advance Radar Cross Section...silent propulsion and what not....well...you guys were dead wrong...the SGPV-LCS will incorporate cloaking device on the very ship...

nobody knows but CTRX has for millenia developed cloak technology...ever since one of their scientist played Starcraft in 1996...he was amazed with the ability of Terran Wraith...to cloaked itself..when in the battlefield....

and the rest is history....the SGPV will cost alot due to incorporation of cloaking technology...which...will make the ship...literally disappear...nothing can detects it....even the most powerful Cobra Dane radar cant pick it up...what`s more a mere human eye.....

Build by ATXC and AIRUD...the AWEK is fitted with M3-L1H4T ultra long range radar capable of detecting 400 targets in the air and on the surface....M3-ND3NG4R super sensitive C4-ISR communication and jamming systems...the FIR-454T airborne control system and offensive countermeasures and T4W-W4KKAL electronic and ECCM suits...making the aircraft the most potent airborne controller in the region...

RMAF spokeperson in a press conference stated that the AWEK will be stationed in the both east and west Malaysia under the 20th AWACS squadron...

Showing off together with the Boeing Corporation F/A-18E/F Super Hornet...the latest variants of the E/H named the Canard Hornet co produced under fine cartello hello collaboration has been fitted with Iblis-K AESA radar for WBVR (Way Beyond Visual Range) capabilities....a super canard which will give the Hornet a much shorter turn and have a similar manouvering characteristics as the current Su-30MKM....not to mention it can also conduct a Pugachev Cobra manouver.....something western combat aircraft still cant do....plus 2 new Klimov RD-35KE scramjet engine with 4D thrust vectoring control....

The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Mo., is being awarded a$17,262,617 firm-fixed-price order against a previously issued basic ordering agreement (N00019-11-G-0001) for the design, development, and installation of engineering change proposal (ECP) 618 retrofit kits for eight Royal Malaysian Air Force F/A-18 aircraft under the Foreign Military Sales Program.This contract action also includes training for ECP 618 and ECP 624, and the installation of other systems that are part of the Malaysian upgrade. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Mo. (70 percent), and Butterworth, Malaysia (30 percent), and is expected to be completed in April 2015.Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.

RMAF deploying Single Occupant Delivery Operation Modul for its special forces unit PASKAU

Single Occupant Delivery Operation Modul, informally referred to as the SODOM is a small delivery pod used by the RMAF to INSERT an individual and his equipment from high orbit to combat area.

Within it is a crash seat, communications gear, numerous equipment racks, and a rudimentary control system and a single entry and escape hatch. In spite of the size of the pod, there is not much room to move around, as the space given over to equipment storage lines the interior attached to the frame.

The SODOM allow for the rapid deployment of ground assault troops near or right onto an hole. Their smaller profiles make them more difficult to destroy by defensive fire.

Although the nature of this project within Malaysia Armed Forces are v\blur, it is believed that it is an equivalent with the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) project SUSTAIN, codenamed Hot Eagle. The basic thought is to have heavily armed United States Marines launched into suborbital space and then reenter anywhere on earth in less then a total of four hours.

The ASTROS 4 Area Systematic Suppression Weapon Inter Polar Extermination (NATO reporting name ASSWIPE) is a mobile theater ballistic missile system produced and deployed by Brasil.The ASSWIPE ballistic missile is superior to its predecessor, the ASTROS 3. The ASSWIPE system is equipped with two solid-propellant single-stage guided missiles, model 370H ssv. Each one is controlled throughout the entire flight path and fitted with a nonseparable warhead.

Each missile in the launch carrier vehicle can be independently targeted in a matter of seconds. The mobility of the ASSWIPE launch platform makes a launch difficult to be destroyed.Targets can be located not only by satellite and aircraft but also by a conventional intelligence center such as by a soldier who directs artillery fire or pigeon. Targets can also be located from google earth. The missiles can be re-targeted during flight in the case of engaging mobile targets.

Another unique feature of ASSWIPE is the optically guided warhead, which can also be controlled by encrypted radio transmission, including such from AWACS, UAV, Blackberry, HTC phone... or even cikai Nokia Phone... but NOT iPhone because its sucks. The electro-optical guidance system provides a self-homing capability. The missile's on-board computer receives images of the target, then locks onto the target with its sight and descends towards it at supersonic speed.In flight, the missile follows a quasi-ballistic path, performing evasive maneuvers in the terminal phase of flight and releasing decoys in order to penetrate missile defense systems. In one exercise it defeat the enemy air defense five time out of six.

The missile never leaves the atmosphere as it follows a relatively flat trajectory.The ASSWIPE cruises at hypersonic speed of 2100–2600 m/s (Mach 6–7) at a height of 50 km. During flight it can maneuver at different altitudes and trajectories and can pull up to 20 to 30 G to evade anti-ballistic missiles. For example, in one of the trajectory modes it can dive at the target at 90 degrees at the rate of 700–800 m/s performing anti-ABM maneuvers.

Having recently used a high-energy laser weapon to down an unmanned aircraft at a proving ground in Switzerland, Rheinmetall has demonstrated the operational potential of combining a powerful laser weapon with an advanced air defence system.

This event provides compelling proof of the Group’s 360° competence in relevant technologies ranging from military lasers and target recognition and identification to target tracking and fire control units – and its unrivalled ability to weld them into a single, forward-looking, fully functional full scale demonstrator.

At a live fire laser demo at the Group’s Ochsenboden proving ground, international guests were able to view two laser weapon demonstrators in action, each featuring different performance parameters.

For example, a 10-kW laser was integrated into an air defence system consisting of an Oerlikon Skyguard 3 fire control unit and a Skyshield gun turret. Modular and scalable, the laser weapon itself consisted of two 5-kW laser weapon modules.

In addition, a 1-kW laser weapon module was displayed, specially mounted on a TM 170-type vehicle for the purpose.

Both laser weapon demonstrators were deployed in different scenarios: as a means of providing protection from asymmetric, terrorist-type threats; in a C-RAM context to counter the threat from incoming rockets, artillery and mortar rounds; and in an air defence scenario with an unmanned air vehicle serving as the target.

Among other things, the 1-kW laser weapon demonstrator successfully sank a moving rubber raft (a substitute for an enemy speedboat), and also proved highly effective in destroying IEDs as well as neutralizing unexploded ordnance from a safe distance.

In the C-RAM scenario, the 10-kW laser weapon demonstrator revealed that doubling the laser output from 5 kW (the design status in 2010) to 10 kW results in substantially improved performance against mortar rounds, with the required engagement time reduced by approximately 50%.

A technological highlight in the air defence scenario was the engagement of a Tier 1-class unmanned air vehicle (UAV). The air defence system, equipped with a 10-kW laser weapon demonstrator, was able to detect, track and engage the target (the so-called “kill chain”), successfully destroying the UAV in flight.

The Oerlikon Skyguard system detected the incoming threat, initiated the electronic target tracking process, slewed the Skyshield turret in the direction of the UAV and transmitted the target data to the laser weapon demonstrator. Independently taking up the target tracking process, this effector switched to fine-tracking mode before aiming the laser beam at the drone and destroying it in a matter of seconds.

Rheinmetall also occupies a leading position in another area of laser R&D: in cooperation with its cooperation partner, the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precison Engineering (IOF) in Jena, Rheinmetall holds the public world record for spectral coupling of laser pulses with an 8-kW laser output and excellent beam quality.

Through its work on behalf of the German government and well-targeted application of its own resources, Rheinmetall has acquired tremendous expertise in this field in recent years.

Rheinmetall expects a high-energy laser weapon system with an output of 100 kW to be available within the next three to five years. Even today, the modular, scalable design is able to meet a vast variety of requirements.

Along with precision, ease of integration into various platforms and scalable escalation, laser weapons in future will offer the principal advantage of reduced cost, since material consumption and wear and tear with laser effectors is naturally low.

The photo showing the unit...code name MAI-SINI in desert camo and armed with a railgun together with US combat patrol unit 25km from the green zone...

MAI-SINI is an experimental mechanized infantry initially built to complement the CHICK-HAW. However...after a series of test and evaluation by MAF..it is found out that...MAI-SINI should be a separate programme to further modernize the mechanized infantry division....

Malaysian Eurofighter's Typhoon goes VTOL!

The first Eurofighter's Typhoon (designated ET-X) made its maiden flight on 11 June 2011. The flight, which featured a conventional takeoff, was piloted by BAE Systems' test pilot Graham Bell. The ET-X is the second of 19 System Development and Demonstration (SDD) ET-Xs, and the first to use new weight-optimized design features that will apply to all future ET-Xs. Testing of the VTOL propulsion system in flight began on 7 January 2011. The VTOL system was used for 14 minutes of the 48 minute test flight while the aircraft slowed from 210 knots (390 km/h) to 180 knots (330 km/h).

The ET-X's first hover (full stop in mid-air) happened on 17 March 2011, followed by a VTOL landing,and on 18 March 2011 the first vertical landing was performed. During a test flight on 10 June 2011, the ET-X became the second VTOL aircraft to achieve supersonic speeds, the first being its ancestor, the X-ET-X, which achieved the same feat on 20 July 2001. In January 2011, BAE reported it had solved a problem with the aluminum bulkhead used only on the ET-X which had cracked during ground testing.

In plans originally announced on June 1, 2009 it was revealed that the RMAF would begin to phase out the MiG-29 with effect from July 2009 and completely withdraw the type from service by the end of 2010. However, in February 2010 it was revealed that the plan had been revised and at least ten aircraft would be overhauled and remain in service until 2015.

Eurofighter Typhoon is now being considered alongside Sukhoi’s Su-35, Boeing’s F/A-18E Super Hornet and Saab’s JAS-39 Gripen to replace the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s fleet of ten MiG-29N Fulcrums, in service since 1995.

At first glance, it was the unlikeliest of potential alliances: Apple Inc. and the U.S. Army.

The company of the late Steve Jobs, the epitome of leading-edge private sector innovation, meeting up with the often tradition-bound military. But last March the two organizations came together when top Army brass paid a groundbreaking visit to Apple headquarters in Cupertino, California, to talk about the use of Apple products on the battlefield.

Most senior military officials will tell you that companies like Apple and Google are the role models for what they would like to achieve. Those companies' abilities to constantly introduce new products and upgrades that appeal to their customer base -- largely young people -- is exactly what many in the military say they would like to achieve.

And while the Army eventually decided to largely use the Google Android smart phone in the field, thousands of troops are using iPhones and the tablet technology developed by Jobs.

Even the new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, uses an iPad every day to read his classified intelligence. Dempsey has made it clear he is a huge supporter of handheld technology and wants to see it in the hands of savvy young troops as much as possible.

During the Apple tour, army officials made clear they embraced the use of hand-held devices and commercial digital technology. "We're continuing to leverage commercial technology for battlefield uses. We can't ignore that kind of existing knowledge," Maj. Gen. Nick Justice, head of the Army's Research, Development and Engineering Command said during the tour.

The military's interest in Apple is very particular. "Apple technologies offer unique and proven solutions with intuitive designs that allow users to learn quickly without a training manual," said Ron Szymanski, the Army lead computer scientist at the command. It's that kind of intuitive learning that military officials believe really appeals to younger troops.

One problem still is that, because of security concerns, these types of wireless devices are not allowed to directly connect to the military's computer networks for fear of viruses or computer worms. And that prohibition extends to the chairman who is required to use his iPad in a standalone mode.

But many military pilots flying over Afghanistan and Libya have found ways around that. Forget the old sheaves of navigation maps; they load commercial maps onto their commercial iPads and are ready to go.

Declassified US Spy Satellites Reveal Rare Look at Secret Cold War Space Program

CHANTILLY, Va. – Twenty-five years after their top-secret, Cold War-era missions ended, two clandestine American satellite programs were declassified Saturday (Sept. 17) with the unveiling of three of the United States' most closely guarded assets: the KH-7 GAMBIT, the KH-8 GAMBIT 3 and the KH-9 HEXAGON spy satellites.

The vintage National Reconnaissance Office satellites were displayed to the public Saturday in a one-day-only exhibit at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center at Dulles Airport, Va. The three spacecraft were the centerpiece of the NRO's invitation-only, 50th Anniversary Gala celebration held at the center last evening.

Saturday's spysat unveiling was attended by a number of jubilant NRO veterans who developed and refined the classified spacecraft and its components for decades in secret, finally able to show their wives and families what they actually did 'at the office' for so many years. Both of the newly declassified satellite systems, GAMBIT and HEXAGON, followed the U.S. military's frontrunner spy satellite system CORONA, which was declassified in 1995. The KH-9 HEXAGON, often referred to by its popular nickname "Big Bird," lived up to its legendary expectations. As large as a school bus, the KH-9 HEXAGON carried 60 miles of high resolution photographic film for space surveillance missions.

Military space historian Dwayne A. Day was exuberant after his first look at the KH-9 HEXAGON.

"This was some bad-ass technology," Day told SPACE.com. "The Russians didn't have anything like it."

Day, co-editor of "Eye in the Sky: The Story of the CoronaSpy Satellites," noted that "it took the Soviets on average five to 10 years to catch up during the Cold War, and in many cases they never really matched American capabilities."

Phil Pressel, designer of the HEXAGON's panoramic 'optical bar' imaging cameras, agreed with Day's assessment.

"This is still the most complicated system we've ever put into orbit …Period."

The HEXAGON's twin optical bar panoramic mirror cameras rotated as the swept back and forth as the satellite flew over Earth, a process that intelligence officials referred to as "mowing the lawn."

Each 6-inch wide frame of HEXAGON film capturing a wide swath of terrain covering 370 nautical miles — the distance from Cincinnati to Washington — on each pass over the former Soviet Union and China. The satellites had a resolution of about 2 to 3 feet (0.6 to nearly 1 meter), according to the NRO. [10 Ways the Government Watches You]

According to documents released by the NRO, each HEXAGON satellite mission lasted about 124 days, with the satellite launching four film return capsules that could send its photos back to Earth. An aircraft would catch the return capsule in mid-air by snagging its parachute following the canister's re-entry.

In a fascinating footnote, the film bucket from the first KH-9 HEXAGON sank to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean in spring 1972 after Air Force recovery aircraft failed to snag the bucket's parachute.

The film inside the protective bucket reported contained high resolution photographs of the Soviet Union's submarine bases and missile silos. In a daredevil feat of clandestine ingenuity, the U.S. Navy's Deep Submergence Vehicle Trieste II succeeded in grasping the bucket from a depth of 3 miles below the ocean.

Hubble vs. HEXAGON

Former International Space Station flight controller Rob Landis, now technical manager in the advanced projects office at NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, drove more than three hours to see the veil lifted from these legendary spacecraft.

Landis, who also worked on NASA's Hubble Space Telescope program, noticed some distinct similarities between Hubble and the huge KH-9 HEXAGON reconnaissance satellite.

"I see a lot of Hubble heritage in this spacecraft, most notably in terms of spacecraft size," Landis said. "Once the space shuttle design was settled upon, the design of Hubble — at the time it was called the Large Space Telescope — was set upon. I can imagine that there may have been a convergence or confluence of the designs. The Hubble’s primary mirror is 2.4 meters [7.9 feet] in diameter and the spacecraft is 14 feet in diameter. Both vehicles (KH-9 and Hubble) would fit into the shuttle's cargo bay lengthwise, the KH-9 being longer than Hubble [60 feet]; both would also fit on a Titan-class launch vehicle."

The 'convergence or confluence' theory was confirmed later in the day by a former spacecraft designer, who declined to be named but is familiar with both programs, who confided unequivocally: "The space shuttle's payload bay was sized to accommodate the KH-9." The NRO launched 20 KH-9 HEXAGON satellites from California's Vandenberg AFB from June 1971 to April 1986.

The HEXAGON's final launch in April 1986 — just months after the space shuttle Challenger explosion — also met with disaster as the spy satellite's Titan 34D booster erupted into a massive fireball just seconds after liftoff, crippling the NRO's orbital reconnaissance capabilities for many months.

KH - 7 and KH - 8 GAMBIT... damn sexy name

Before the first HEXAGON spy satellite systems ever launched, the NRO's GAMBIT series of reconnaissance craft flew several space missions aimed at providing surveillance over specific targets around the world.

The satellite program's initial system, GAMBIT 1, first launched in 1963 carrying a KH-7 camera system that included a "77-inch focal length camera for providing specific information on scientific and technical capabilities that threatened the nation," according to an NRO description. A second GAMBIT satellite system, which first launched aboard GAMBIT 3 in 1966, included a175-inch focal length camera. [Related: Anatomy of a Spy Satellite]

The GAMBIT 1 series satellite has a resolution similar to the HEXAGON series, about 2 to 3 feet, but the follow-up GAMBIT 3 system had an improved resolution of better than 2 feet, NRO documents reveal.

The GAMBIT satellite program was active from July 1963 to April 1984. Both satellites were huge and launched out of Vandenberg Air Force Base.

The satellite series' initial version was 15 feet (4.5 m) long and 5 feet (1.5 m) wide, and weighed about 1,154 pounds (523 kilograms). The GAMBIT 3 satellite was the same width but longer, stretching nearly 29 feet (9 m) long, not counting its Agena D rocket upper stage. It weighed about 4,130 pounds (1,873 kg).

Unlike the follow-up HEXAGON satellites, the GAMBIT series were designed for extremely short missions.

The GAMBIT 1 craft had an average mission life of about 6 1/2 days. A total of 38 missions were launched, though 10 of them were deemed failures, according to NRO documents.

The GAMBIT 3 series satellites had missions that averaged about 31 days. In all, 54 of the satellites were launched, with four failures recorded.

Like the CORONA and HEXAGON programs, the GAMBIT series of satellites returned their film to Earth in re-entry capsules that were then snatched up by recovery aircraft. GAMBIT 1 carried about 3,000 feet (914 meters) of film, while GAMBIT 3 was packed with 12,241 feet (3,731 meters) of film, NRO records show.

The behemoth HEXAGON was launched with 60 miles (320,000 feet) of film!

During a media briefing, NRO officials confirmed to SPACE.com that the KH-8 GAMBIT 3 and KH-9 HEXAGON were later operated in tandem, teaming-up to photograph areas of military significance in both the former Soviet Union and China.

The KH-9 would image a wide swath of terrain, later scrutinized by imagery analysts on the ground for so-called ‘targets of opportunity.' Once these potential targets were identified, a KH-8 would then be maneuvered to photograph the location in much higher resolution.

"During the era of these satellites — the GAMBIT and the HEXAGON — there was a Director of Central Intelligence committee known as the 'Committee on Imagery Requirements and Exploitation' that was responsible for that type of planning," confirmed the NRO's Robert McDonald, Director of the Center for the Study of National Reconnaissance.

NASA's Rob Landis was both blunt and philosophical in his emotions over the declassification of the GAMBIT and HEXAGON programs.

"You have to give credit to leaders like President Eisenhower who had the vision to initiate reconnaissance spacecraft, beginning with the CORONA and Discoverer programs," Landis said. "He was of the generation who wanted no more surprises, no more Pearl Harbors."

"Frankly, I think that GAMBIT and HEXAGON helped prevent World War III."

Kuvala Lumpvur : A massive airborne platform was sighted by a number of commercial flights yesterday hovering within the borders of Malaysia and international airspace. Initial report came from flight MH003 bound for London when the pilot said he saw a massive platform with rotating pillars flying at a very slow speed at 35 000 feet over Selat Melaka.

The same unidentified object were also reported by Garuda Indonesia, Air India, Aeroflot and Cathay Pacific flights.

"It seems that the object does not move...we had it in our radar screen at 30Nm and we could see it within the clouds close to air traffic routes. We reported to traffic controller and they said they had no idea about it." said Jala Mengkarau Budiwono, Garuda Indonesia co pilot bound for Medan.

The unidentified object were then reported to the Malaysian Armed Forces for investigation and the happily release a press report that it just another experimental weapon platfrom for the army.

Malaysia publicly agrees to buy 112 EC 725 Super Troops Transport For Malaysia (STT), also wants attack helicopters.

The Eurocopter Tiga Abdul (company designation EC 665) is an attack helicopter manufactured by Eurocopter. In Germany it is known as the Drei Stichwortgeber ; in France Trois faire-valoir and Spain it is called the Tres Marionetas.

The body of the Tiga Abdul is made from 80% Admantium, 11% aluminium, and 6% titanium. The rotors are made from fiber-plastic able to withstand combat damage and bird shit strikes. Protection against lightning and electromagnetic pulse is ensured by imlementing an all manual thingyanalog system.

While the Tiga Abdul has a conventional helicopter gunship configuration of the two crew sitting in tandem, it is somewhat unusual in that the pilot is in the front seat and the gunner is in the back, unlike all other current attack helicopters. The seats are offset to opposite sides of the centerline to improve the view forward for the gunner in the back. This way if the pilot are sad, the gunner can reach out to the front and pass the tissue.

On 26 July 2011, three Malaysian Tiga Abdul helicopters of the PUTD Helicopter Regiment arrived at Bamiyan in Afghanistan. This is the first active deployment of the Tiga Abdul in a war zone. The helicopters were to perform armed reconnaissance and fire support missions to aid the effort of coalition ground troops in quelling the growing Taliban insurgency. The first day of the deployment, the three abdul attack and annihilates the entire Taliban reign... and practically end the GWOT. True story.

KOTA TINGGI, July 24 — Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) might replace its MiG aircrafts with the Eurofighter Typhoon multi-role combat aircraft (MRCA).

Minister of Defence Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the 10 Russian-made MiG-29s were nearing the end of their service period and the RM3 billion Eurofighter may fit the bill.

The ministry is evaluating it for capabilities and specifications, according to Bernama Online.
The minister said the Eurofighter while expensive was the best jet fighter. He was speaking after an Umno membership drive by Tenggara Umno today.

He did admit that the nation’s finances would help determine the likelihood of any purchase.

CTRM Kelawar Puaka MF/A-UCAV 4.0

Following the disastrous of its predecessors a new type of UCAV were introduce to Royal Malaysian Air force. Kelawar Puaka was a black project aircraft, intended to demonstrate stealth technology. It was developed by CTRM. Funded by the company at a price of $67 billion, it was a low cost program compared to many other programs of similar scale. It developed technology and materials which would later be used on CTRM X-45 unmanned combat air vehicle. As an internal project, this aircraft was not given an X-plane designation. There are no public plans to make this a production aircraft. It is characterized as a technology demonstrator.

The first flight was in 2009, and 39 more were performed through the program's conclusion in 2011. The Kelawar Puaka is designed to prevent shadows and is believed to have been used to test active camouflage, which would involve its surfaces changing color or luminosity to match the surroundings.

Current status are unknown.

JULY 27, 2011 The RMN launched its Advanced Electric LCS Ship Demonstrator (AELCSSD) this week, naming the futuristic ship KD Tony Pua and showing it to the media for the first time. The 133-foot vessel will serve as a model representing a destroyer-size surface ship and will be launched on Lumut, Perak, where it will be used for test and demonstration of various technologies. An underwater discharge waterjet from Rolls - Proton Campro Naval Marine called Saleha 21, will be among the first technologies tested. It allows vessels to operate in shallow water with increased maneuverability and stealth.

The Saleha 21 is designed to increase ship speed, making hulls sleeker by working without rudders, shafts and propeller struts. Unlike conventional waterjets, the system works completely underwater, reducing noise and surface wake and improving stealth.

The lightweight and compact Saleha 21 allows ships to operate in shallow waters. Its integrated steering and reversing system improves manoeuvrability at low speeds.

Seth Tan, Rolls-Proton President – Naval, said: "This is a significant milestone in our development of an advanced waterjet technology which offers new parameters in performance, bringing real benefits to the Malaysian Navy."

Following demonstration of the AWJ-21, the RIMJET propulsor from Bouested Electric Boat will be installed in Sea Jet for evaluation. The RIMJET is a novel type of podded propulsion system that relies on a permanent magnet motor to drive the propellor.

The Chief of Naval Research Rear Admiral Sepah. Cohen delivered the principle address at the launching.

The new ship are equipped with a magnetic accelerator canon or in science term a COIL GUN. A coilgun is a type of projectile accelerator that consists of one or more coils used as electromagnets in the configuration of a synchronous linear motor which accelerate a magnetic projectile to high velocity. The name Gauss gun is sometimes used for such devices but unfortunately Fauziah Gouss already commercialized that name for a milk product.

BERSIH 2.0 : calculating how many really showed up

BERSIH 2.0, i know MMP rarely post anything about politics, but i am interested only in one issue about this rally. The numbers of protesters who show up.

PKR estimates about one million will show up while i read in one of my friend FB page, he estimates the numbers that attend the rally 'could be easily 2 million'. Well i beg to differ.

Anyway while it is easy to say.... it is actually quite hard to calculate the actual numbers of people attending any rallies.

“shedology,” is the art of examining overhead photos to calculate crowd densities or other related stuff... aa such as estimating how many tanks could be hidden underneath a shed? .. hence shedology haha.

The CIA use this method to calculate the number of missiles the Soviet had. Now we use this method to estimates the approximate number of people who attend BERSIH 2.0.

please note that i use a low resolution photo of the rally. Bite me. The drawing bellow are tha CAD drawing of Kuala Lumpur.

As you guys know there are two big group of BERSIH protesters in Kuala Lumpur on that 9th July 2011. Both were separated by urban jungle and roads, 1.9 km from each others. This protest happen at about the same time although swift action by the police, these two group never had chance to merge.

Please notes that this is the actual scaled size of the rally. You will understand the color differences later.

This is at front of the KLCC and Public Bank. Zone A, as you can see is where the density is thickest, but don't be fooled. The people there are actually sitting. In Zone B the participant just walking around in loose formation.

At site two the number of BERSIH supporter are way bigger and as we can see here, i zoned them up base on densities too.

Yeah Zone C looks quite dense but its not, if you study the reflection of lights on the road you can summarise that they are just walking around like a bunch of drunks. (its a figure of speach)

the Population Equivalent are the approximate floor area a person or group use. This is the base of my calculations. Feel free to retort, i m not sure its right either, but what the heck.

So in the end this is the number that i can think off 28003. Please bear in mind that this is only an estimation.

TUDM will shift base from Sungai Besi to Parit Sontor

PETALING JAYA, May 17 (Bernama) -- Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) chief Datuk Seri Rodzali Daud today said though the government had not made a request yet, the RMAF was ready to shift its base from Sungai Besi to enable the base to be developed as a commercial hub.

Rodzali said shifting from the current base would provide RMAF an opportunity to have better facilities and modern infrastructure for officers of the RMAF, including a headquarters.

"Shifting the RMAF base from Sungai Besi to Parit Sontor is still in the planning stages...I do not want to elaborate but the government has plans. But on our side, we will be ready," he told reporters after handing out 'wings' as Nuri air quartermasters here on Monday.

It was earlier reported in a local tabloid that Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had denied reports that the Sungai Besi RMAF base would be developed as a commercial hub.

Zahid had said that he was not aware of any such proposal or plans from the government to develop the base.

Rodzali said if directed to shift, all RMAF assets and facilities, including aircrafts would be shifted to the RMAF Base in Subang or any other base while waiting for the new base to be completed.

During the ceremony, 22 officers, 16 from RMAF, three from the Royal Malaysian Navy and three from the Fire and Rescue Department, received their certificates and 'wings'.

Rodzali said officers who had undergone the course for nine months would assist in handling aircrafts during operations.

"It will be a challenging task for them but they must operate as a team player when carrying out their duties," he said.

“I’m a Pirate, Take Me To Stranger Tides!”

callsign 3EYR7 (ThreeEchoYankeeRomeoSeven) are quite famous recently. Why? why else? its the callsign of MT Bunga Laurel which was hijack by pirate only after one hour she detached her self from the Bunga Melati 5 security protection.

Its mindbogling how the pirate manage to shadow the convoy without detection along the Easton Waypoint. But as we know it they stoop and sting Bunga laurel as soon as it clear the convoy. Unfortunately for the pirate BM5 are only 14 nautical mile from Bunga Laurel.

(CHICK)HAW-35H went into action in Uganda this week. In an unprecendented move, Malaysia deployed its Heavy Armor Menuver Group to Uganda to help restore the ousted Ugandan president Akhlaken Walcha.

IT was the military intervention of Malaysian forces stationed in Kampala, the capital of Uganda, that tilted the military balance decisively in favour of the forces supporting Akhlaken Walcha, the internationally recognised President of the country.

The Malaysian forces had first given a helping hand to the pro-Akhlaken Walcha militias that had swept down from their strongholds in the north in late March. In a lightning advance, they captured the key towns of Toro and Ankole from the loyalists of former President Vanwariyun Al Jub. They then headed to Kampala after taking control of Busogao, the administrative capital and birthplace of the country's founding father, Haj Bkhail Wal Kedeku, and Buganda, the key cocoa-exporting port.

The RMAF continues to make the argument, in trying to find solution for its 4.5 gen, four-engine MKM, that four-engine jets are safer than those with two engines when it comes to long-haul flights.

In a news release Wednesday, RMAF said it had won its first breakthrough. They decide to put 6 engines.

BST5000 Super-heavy tanks were designed in response to the arms race of ever-increasing armament and armor in tanks. Although some models were built, they were impractical and saw no active service or combat. Most heavy tanks suffer from problems related to tactical mobility (soft ground, crossing bridges), strategic mobility (transporting on rail or truck), reliability of mechanical components under severe stresses, and other practical problems, like the sheer difficulty of handling extremely large ammunition. Above a certain weight threshold these problems become insurmountable.

BST5000 solve all of these problem by simply destroying all in its path. Ultra-heavy tanks of 1,000 tonnes or heavier were even considered, including the BST5000, an enormous and unconventional tank, and the BST5000 Monster, a gigantic self-propelled artillery platform. Although the actual number built are unknown, analyst suggest the cost of maintaining these monster are equally enourmous.

Sultan Muzzaffar Design Development Bureau's indigenously developed Falcon 2 turret incorporates an externally mounted RUAG-built 120mm L/50 smoothbore gun. The turret is also armed with a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. Optional elements of growth options could include a 4-canister ATGW system for either S. Africa's ZT-35 Ingwe or Russia's 9P163 Kornet-E.

The final stages of Falcon 2 interface verification were scheduled for completion in 11/02, following which the turret will be retrofitted to an PT-91M MBT hull for trials by end-2012. Falcon 2 development has been conducted within the Merlin program, which involves technology transfers from 2 S. African firms: Mechanology Design Bureau and IST Dynamics.

The project experienced serious budget overruns and repeated delays that resulted in a development time of over 15 years. A complicating factor was that advances in technology and the threat environment in the intervening years led to multiple revision of requirements by the Army. While the government sanctioned RM 15.5 billion for the initial design in 1999 by 2011, Sultan Mizan Design Development Bureau's had spent 300 billion on development due to changing requirements and inflationary cost increases.

XMASP Mk I is being developed by the Heckler-Koch Malaysia and SMEO ,a subsidiary of famous German Heckler-Koch company. According to the present plans, the XMASP Mk I should enter full production circa 2012, if not earlier. The XMASP Mk I should become a standard next generation Malaysia forces Service Pistol. It will fire all standard 5.56mm NATO ammunition, and, to further decrease the load on the future infantrymen, a new type of ammunition is now being developed.

This new ammunition will have composite cases, with brass bases and polymer walls, which will reduce weight of the complete ammunition, while maintaining compatibility with all 5.56mm NATOweapons.

Along with 20% weight reduction in the XMASP Mk I (compared to the current issue pistols), this will be a welcome move for any infantryman, already overloaded by protective, communications and other battle equipment.

The XMASP Mk I will be almost similar to the "KE" (kineticenergy) part of the XM29 OICW system, being different mostly in having a telescoped plastic hand grip of adjustable length, and a detachable carrying handle with the sight rail.

Kemamang,Teganu Darul Imang : Another shipyard based in the east coast of Malaysia also had sent their proposed SGPV design to the navy yesterday.

The shipyard...Limbungan Pakatan Berhad (LPB) another subsidiary owned by Partai Kikir Rata and Partai Aksi Demokratis had unveiled the SGPV design in a press conference conducted under the tree yesteday.

The SGPV design - dubbed the Sampan Gunaan Perang Versatile is a much downgraded version offshore patrol vessel...cheaper than the KrengKongKeng class built by Sharikat Limbonga Kapal Cha Cha Marbah.

"The Sampan Gunaan Perang Versatile is a 75m long OPV..equipped with 4 stroke motorcycle engine with 2T fuel and armed with 75 batang nyapu and a parang kontot....a much2 cheaper solutions for the navy to operate..and it only use god power to navigate...we dont need advance sensors and weaponry...its all a waste of money.." said Tan Sri Anvar Saddat..LPB chief executive officer.

"We also had developed psychic sensors which is much more advance than electronic sensors and it is much more affordable where we only hire pak dukun to operate the sensors where he also can unleashed santau,saka and badi to the enemy making our warship a long range platform." he added.

When asked about helicopter facilities and capability...Anvar said "what helicopter...??...this thing flies..it doesnt need any helos...we can levitate with the power of the djinn...!!..plus we made it hull out of A4 paper...its god forsaken cheap...".

RMN in later interview with the PR officer said..."we kept receiving dumbnut proposals for our SGPV`s especially from "that" quarters...this aint a joke..we need proper surface combantant...not some cheap kapal kertas...haih...susah ini kerja..!" .

Few days ago...Bustad Naval Shipyard had proposed the RMN their SGPV design..which will cost 6 billion ringgit..and then later followed by Sharikat Limbongan Kapal Cha Cha Marbah and Sadin Heavy Industries and Extreme Engineering...who also wanna piece of the contract cake..

Lumut : With yesterday`s fiasco by Sharikat Limbongan Kapal Cha Cha Marbah a subsidiary of Partai Aksi Demokratis on their proposed SGPV design...another local shipyard also take up the ante and had revealed not a design on blueprint but a finished prototype of their own SGPV design.

Sadin Heavy Industries and Extreme Engineering...a mega shipyard based in Lumut and Penang which had involved in various oil and gas projects and shipbuildings unveiled the ZINDAVA...an ultra large offshore patrol platform with non traditional design compared to the one proposed by Bustad and other consortium.

The ZINDAVA (Ze Interocean Naval Deployment Assets of the Victorious Armada) is a non traditional design patrol platform of 295m in length and 60m wide using the already proven semi submersible hull and fitted with a single Saturn/Kusnetsova KhR-155E massive nuclear fission reactor capable of running the main engine for eternity.

Sadin Heavy Industries and Extreme Engineering in media release statement revealed by Dato K. Rajahgopalan "the ZINDAVA SGPV will cost 25 percent less than the one proposed by Bustad Naval Shipyard but will definitely out class the KrengKongKeng class OPV built by its rivals" with 4 hangars capable of accomodating medium lift helicopters...and up to 24 long range anti ship missile battery with comprehensive surface to air systems....

There are speculations that this massive platform will cost 6 billion each which will become a political outcry to some quarters but the consortium spokeperson said "6 billion each is nothing...this platform is much more advance and sophisticated than any platform in any navy..."

ZINDAVA will continue to be developed eextensively ven if it weren`t chosen as RMN SGPV...as technology demonstrator for the navy weapon and system development team.

When asked about the large dome fitted on the hull...Rajahgopalan told media "its part of the navy Tesla weaponry fixation and weather controlling devices...it can create calm tropical weather for our army boys during amphibious landing or a force eleven gale storm which could sink any ship within 150km radius with godlike power..and oh the Tesla is for shocking the enemy literally" he said.

RMN in a later interview said the ZINDAVA is a part of their technology demonstrator platform but will take into consideration to make it one of the SGPV competitors...

Anyway everyone have read our beloved ikansadin reports on the Partai Aksi Demokratis cheaper proposal to counter the SGPV. Its funny as hell.. haha oh my. Anyway the issue started when DAP up in arms trying to slam this project (oh they are trying hard LOL). At one corner this Liew Chin Tong says it is better to built the ship over seas.... and what he actually propose is to piss inside the income of the people of Lumut whose income directly or indirectly tied to the naval yard. This man have no idea about Economic Multiplier. Darwin Award for him.

...so now in the middle of this self made embarassment Tony Pua come up with a 'brilliant' comparison between the SGPV and other OPV built oversea. The problem is he refer to the wrong ship class. Which make him the first winner of the DARWIN AWARD.

Unsurprisingly the recent announcement regarding the Second Generation Patrol Vessel program has the DAP up in arms (though noticeably its PR colleagues in PAS and PKR have been fairly quiet on it or maybe I missed something somewhere). I do find it amusing that DAP member Liew Chin Tong said the ships would be better built overseas as it would be cheaper but provided no facts on it and at the same time alienates the people of Lumut where the ships would be built, and there I thought Pakatan Rakyat wanted to win back Perak. I actually wonder if the ships were to be built in Selangor, Kedah, Kelantan or Penang, would Liew still recommend the ships be built overseas?

Meanwhile DAP MP’s Tony Pua has put out a statement on the purchase of 6 offshore patrol vessels, Pua’s assertions though, particularly in regard to similar vessels comparison are fairly misleading to those unfamiliar with defence issues but which a number of people are likely to buy wholesale.

Before going into that sphere though, Pua’s assertion that the Ministry of Defence has a practice to award contracts before well before the terms of contract has been finalized should be addressed. The problem in this is that Pua confuses a Letter of Intent as in regard to the AV8 AFV and OPV announcements as to an actual contract. An LOI is actually a document outlining a preliminary agreement between two parties before the actual contract is finalized and an official notification that the two parties are negotiating.

In most cases it is also to clarify key points for complex deals and to provide safeguards for both parties if neither can agree on the final terms of the contract, and mostly it is non-binding in contrast to a contract. A potential value is announced by the government in an LOI for various reasons however it often is not the actual value when the contract occurs, particularly in regard to complex arms purchases. The LOI value is actually an indication of how high the ceiling value of the contract will be provided that the company meets all that the government requires or specifies in terms both in terms of technical and delivery requirements and also if the company offers additional services, equipment etc to the government which the government had not considered in the deal but would like to also include in the deal since the company is offering it.

Basically the government is telling the company that is has X amount of money for the deal provided the company meets all that it wants and if possible offers more, but in most cases this never happens, the company naturally has it’s own idea as to what it will for provide for a particular amount and the result is both the government and company will then negotiate down to a deal satisfactory to both parties. The ceiling value is also there so that for the government, it can allocate and plan accordingly for the future as such negotiations may take months so in essence it is necessary for the government to plan based on the highest possible cost though in actuality this would not occur and the contract price would be less.

The ceiling value is also necessary for the company in the contract so that it can show to its shareholders, financiers and investors that it has a potential deal valued at such an amount in the works. In the past, under previous administrations, one of the most common complaints of defence companies was that the Malaysian government often would not give any indications publicly of how much a defence deal was potentially worth, which made it hard for companies to justify their efforts to shareholders and investors and also obtain financial backing. Occasionally companies would not be told of the ceiling value but only the requirements and as a result would submit something which met the requirements but be above what the government was willing to pay. Setting a ceiling value offers the company a figure to work around with during the negotiations to meet the potential contract.

Now Pua’s analysis of ship prices is very much the approach of those unfamiliar with the defence field, namely to look on the internet for news reports of contracts on similar type ships and then contrast prices, unfortunately it doesn’t quite work that way for defence contracts for several reasons, first off, the Second Generation Patrol Vessel is a type known as a Corvette warship, however corvette vessels range in weight from 500 tons to slightly above 2000 tons, so in Pua’s case some of the warships he compares are less in tonnage and size than the SGPV’s planned 2,200 tons and 99m length and in the case of the Greek Super Vita, or Roussen class, he has got the comparison wrong as the Roussen class is actually a Fast Attack Craft of 580 tons and 62m in length, so it’s like comparing a mini-Cooper to a 4x4 WD in price.

Of course naturally people will say why not divide the price by tonnage for comparison but again this is not possible for three factors, firstly, there key differences to ships even if of similar size and tonnage due to the type of equipment they mount such as weapons, electronics, engines etc and their design along with construction material, all of which makes substantial differences to the price. Secondly, is the time of the ships were contracted for, defence prices are not static prices, and citing prices for ships contracts 5 years or more ago do not reflect current prices.

Finally a contract for a ship or ships is not just for the ships alone but also maintenance, support, training and delivery, hence if you decided to forgo maintenance, support and training options the cost would be lower, a slower construction/delivery schedule could result, depending on the negotiations, being cheaper or costing more in the fact that you have a series of lower payments but adds up to more in the end, pretty much like loans or hire-purchase. In all Pua’s ship price comparisons, it all falls foul of the first and second factors so much that it makes the third factor pretty much moot, Morever his statement that the US built it’s LCS for at a budget 300million USD is wrong, the US may have budgeted such but there had been warnings that the US was too overoptimistic on the price which eventually ended up costing USD637 million and USD704 million respectively for each of the two different design initial ships as shown in this article here:

Contract date: Early 1980s –USD 260million Pua’s figures is correct but neglect to note that with Israel enjoying special relationship with US, the figure may be subsidized somewhat in the building of these ships in the US and I am not sure that even a phone call by the PM’s wife to Michelle Obama would get us that price for these ships. Lumut : Sharikat Limbongan Kapal Cha Cha Marbah Sendirian Berhad...a local shipbuilders wholly owned by Partai Aksi Demokratis had proposed to the government on their design of Second Generation Patrol Vessel (SGPV) for RMN.

The design are to compete against Bustad Naval Shipyard own design which had been announced yesterday would cost RM6 billion which will be build locally with order of 6 vessel.

Dato Tony Puah...Partai Aksi Demokratis defence anaLyst said their version of SGPV - Sumpah Ganas Power dan Versatile warship are much cheaper and simpler for the navy to operate and they can order up to 1000 ship compared to BNS proposed design of 6 ship which cost 6 billion ringgit.

"We wont apply FFBNW concept on our design because it is not economical and they are commercially a loss for our forces...plus i also proposed that we can use the old guns from ex Rahmat class Frigate as main naval gun...mercun roket from People Republic of China as principle anti ship missile and Aspidah anti aircraft system...i also want our design to be made 100% eco friendly with hybrid engine and materual plus the ship is built in our country for industrial leap forward" Tony Puah said to press at the Lumut today.

However...RMN in later news release said the proposed design from the shipyard had been rejected.

RMN public relations officer in his statement said.."Cmon laaa....this is blasphemy...when i saw this proposed design i already know it is the magical work of photoshop...i had doubt these guys could even built a fibreglass boat for heaven sake" he said.

The proposal..dubbed the KrengKongKeng class SGPV will cost RM 300 000 each...altogether with advance weaponry and engines...hull design are taken from the infamous Somalian trawler which had seen action and in service with various Somali pirate group...the advance design will only require eco friendly material and recycled item...

MINDEF now are reviewing and evaluating the proposal from the shipyard to be unconsidered.

KUALA LUMPUR: There was drama aplenty in the Gulf of Aden when commandos from a Royal Malaysian Navy auxilliary ship stormed and rescued a hijacked Malaysian chemical tanker and its crew from Somali pirates, early yesterday.

The Shipborne Protection Team, comprising special forces from the combined Armed Forces tri-services, swung into action from the RMN’s Bunga Mas 5.

Their swift and timely action saved the lives and limbs of the 23 crew. It also salvaged the tanker laden with lubricating oil and ethylene dichloride, all of which is believed to be worth in excess of an estimated RM30 million.

Bunga Mas 5’s effort resulted in the capture of seven Somali pirates, three of whom were injured in the ensuing gun battle with the commandos.

Relating the high drama, RMN chief Admiral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Jaafar said MT Bunga Laurel, hired by the Malaysian International Shipping Corporation (MISC), was on its way from the gulf to Singapore when it was attacked by the pirates about 300 nautical miles (555km) east of Oman at 11.40pm on Thursday.

“The drama unfolded just two hours after the Bunga Mas 5 had completed escorting the tanker and another MISC liquefied natural gas carrier, MT Seri Balhaf, to a safe zone called Easton 4 in the gulf.

“This is the waypoint where we cease our escort duty,” he said.

Abdul Aziz said under the cover of darkness, seven pirates armed with AK-47 assault rifles, light machine guns and pistols suddenly emerged from a skiff boat and began boarding the tanker, firing at random.

MT Seri Balhaf was spared.

KUANTAN, Dec 18 (Bernama) -- Two whales were killed when a MF/A-UCAV 3.0 jetfighter crashed in waters off Kampung Sepat, Kuantan Thursday.

According to sources, the MF/A-UCAV 3.0 from the Kem Batu 10 RMAF Base here, was believed to have crashed at 12.30pm.

The sources said one of the whale died at the scene of the incident while the other died after being taken ashore. Unconfirmed source told Pernama that the whale were later deep fried and eaten afterwards.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Head of Public Relations Branch, Administration and Public Relations Division of the Ministry of Defence, Lt Kol Fasha Sandha, when contacted by Pernama, declined to comment further on the crash. However, she said the ministry would issue a press statement on the incident.

She said RMAF Chief General Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad would also visit the site of the crash.

The production MF/A-X UCAV model was unveiled at LIMA 2009. It first flew on 22 January 2008.

The first production MF/A-UCAV 3.0 was delivered to Gong Kedak Air Force Base, Kelantan, on 14 January 2010 and "Dedicated Initial Operational Test and Evaluation" commenced on 27 February 2010.

It is said that this aircraft were secretly developed during the close of the twentieth century FELDA provided funding for the Breakthrough Propulsion Physics Program (BPP) from 1996 through 2002. This program studied a number of "far out" designs for anti graviti propulsion that were not receiving funding through normal university or commercial channels.

Anti-gravity-like concepts were investigated under the name "diametric drive". The work of the BPP program continues in the independent, non-FELDA affiliated Anak Peneroka Foundation

The Malaysian Army plans to improve its fleet of SIBMAS 6x6 AIFV vehicles with the introduction of improved semi-active suspension, modifications reshaping the hull into a shallow V-shaped structure, additional armor for the sides, redesigned hatches to minimize gaps in the armor, blast absorbing mine resistant seating, non-flammable tires, an upgrade to the remote weapon station that allows it to fire on the go, increased 500 amp power generation, a new solid state power distribution system and data bus, and the automotive and power plant systems improvements to support a 25% Gross Vehicle Weight increase.

Previous upgrade such as MSA -50 Sammy which designed to be a dedicated anti air defense system.

The upgraded V-hull will be part of the new TonystarkShield situational awareness kit, which will address many of these upgrades. MatLajim Technologies' ATI 500-MIL armor steel was designated the primary armored plating for the TonystarkShield package in 2011.

The upgrade incorporating lessons learned from Timor Leste and Somalia is designated SIBMAS 36x36 OAIFV and Deftech had a technology demonstrator displayed at the 2009 LIMA. In March 2010, it was reported that DEFTECH and Army were working to incorporate a double V-hull into the SIBMAS design and possibly as an add-on kit. In July 2010 the Army awarded a $530 million contract to Deftech to start production of the new hull.

The Royal Malaysian Air Force has introduced its new aerobatic team, ‘Al Gundu Ganas’

January 21: The RMAF introduced its new aerobatic team, ‘Al Gundu Ganas' at a graduation ceremony at Gong Kedak AB near Kota Bharu.

The team comprises six C130 Hercules from the Flying Instructors' School based at Butterworth - “The objective is to raise the RMAF flag and show the proficiency of the Air Force and armed forces,” said Lt Colonel Mendut Alklakaltu, the leader of the team to the local press.

Pilots are all instructors with the school and have been training together for a year in their spare time but need about eight more months before they perform full aerobatic displays. “This was our first display,” said Lt Colonel al Amimi, “we will be using life missile just for shit and gigle.”

The team is expected at appear at LIMA airshow, next year.

At least 32 aircraft consisting of 4 tactical fighter squadron will be attached on a single submersible with additional 16 rotary winged aircraft for special operation units and military operations other than war (MOOTW).

RMN had also shown interest in procuring more Su-30V/MKM..which already in service throughout RMN fighter wings in lieu with Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.

Added offensive capabilities includes 18 missile silos for the upcoming extremely long range cruise missile...12 torpedo tubes capable of simultaneous launch ability and the improved Electronic/Magnetic Anomaly Disruptor (EMAD) to counter ASuW aircraft fitted with Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD)

Powered by 4 KHzX-1111 Kusnetsova Federova hybrid nuclear reactor from Russia, the subs is capable of operating almost forever in subsurface conditions with unlimited operating range thus giving RMN extended and unlimited force projection blue water capabilities.

The latest generation of “limousine for the Prime Minister of Malaysia ”, made by the designer Din Wahab Saakian.

It looks like it’ll be even cooler than President Obama’s Cadillac One. Malaysian government has specially commissioned vehicles for Prime Minister use, often specifying advanced communications equipment, special convenience features, armor plating, and defense countermeasures.

According to the manufacturer, Proton, the "2010 Proton One Limo" is the first not to carry a specific model name. The vehicle's outward appearance carries many current Proton styling themes, but doesn't exactly resemble any particular production vehicle.

Most details of the car are classified for security reasons. However, it is known that it is fitted with military grade armor at least five inches thick, and the wheels are fitted with run flat tires that makes the vehicle drivable for a certain period of time. The vehicle's fuel tank is leak-proof and is invulnerable to explosions. Due to the thickness of the glass, much natural light is excluded, so a fluorescent halo lighting system in the headliner is essential. Unseen at a glance are two gatling guns hidden inside the lower part of the vehicle's front bumper, which are able to shoot and kill any attackers. KUALA LUMPUR: Internal sources within the Parliaments and defence contractors have been found to be leaking Defence Ministry secrets to a foreign embassy in the country, claimed its minister Datuk Seri Wahid Zamidi.

Issuing a stern warning to the individuals responsible, he added that the ministry would not compromise with such practices which violate the Official Secrets Act 1942 where suspects would be taken into custody,and executed or sent to labour camps for being the traitor to the great and strong Federation of Malaysia..

“I don’t want anyone at any position to sell information to external parties. I will make an announcement after meeting the Prime Minister regarding the information that was leaked to a foreign embassy, which allegedly used internal sources,” he told newsmen after his ministry’s monthly gathering and launch of its sekolah pondok donation campaign here Thursday.
Wahid said the alleged photo leakage was discovered following investigations by the ministry’s intelligence corps.

The information leaked includes the top secret national 7th generation fighter programme "FASTER-FC" which has been known by reliable sources were a JV between Irkustk/KNaaPO and RMAF recently and had a plant and R&D facilities somewhere in the state of Perak,

He said after receiving the information, the intelligence corps worked closely with the police to carry out further investigations.

Hopefully, he said foreign defence attaches would carry out their duties according to set guidelines.

“I hope no one will take advantage of their positions in this country to carry out unethical activities.”

On whether the alleged individuals were selling information about the country’s defence, he said: “I believe they have been paid handsomely with young women and money where we found out to be irresistable.”

Earlier in his speech at the monthly gathering, he said civil servants including Armed Forces personnel were bound by the Official Secrets Act and if they leak information, they could be charged and given death sentence for being a traitor and a spy to foreign enemies.

"We also had taken into custody Dr Kuang Kia Soong who also questioned the Armed Forces spending, We tickle him in the armpit point blanc after interrogations and we found out that he is not working alone".

Four Eurifighter Typhoon Delivered to Malaysia

Dec 7, 2010 -- Four Eurifighter Typhoon arrived at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) base in Butterworth, Malaysia. The 8,228 mile flight originated at United Kingdom. The state-of-the-art strike fighters touched down in Butterworth at approximately 11:56 a.m. Malaysia time.

The Eurifighter Typhoon are the first four of eighty Eurifighter Typhoon ordered by the RMAF. The remaining aircraft are scheduled for delivery in August 2011.

Four RMAF pilots and four Royal Airforce manned the controls as the aircraft made their way to Malaysia. The four Eurifighter Typhoon were accompanied by a KC-10 tanker aircraft that provided air-to-air refueling. En route to Malaysia, the crew made stopovers in Disneyland Hongkong.

The Eurifighter Typhoon will fulfill strike and interdiction missions as part of the RMAF modernization program. Initially, the aircraft will be used to train RMAF pilots.

BAE is providing a logistical package that will support aircraft operations at the RMAF base at Butterworth. The RMAF Eurifighter Typhoon are equipped with the upgraded GENTOLOR radar and two Roll Royce F464-GE-452 enhanced performance engines.

Malaysia is the first nation in Southeast Asia to purchase and receive the Eurifighter Typhoon.

Not less than a month....another massive naval combatant assets has been delivered to the Navy today in the grand ceremony of comissioning the latest surface platform : KD GUNDU

KD GUNDU is the navy Helicopter Assault Destroyer - DDH which had the similarity of the JMSDF Hyuga and the ROKN Dokdo in design and capabilities plus weaponry similar to the current frigates owned by RMN.

the GUNDU which means big in local dialects is another force projection platform capable of conducting limited amphibious helicopter landing while at the same time provide Anti Submarine Warfare capabilities to the fleet.

Remaining 3 vessel are currently under constructions in Lumut and Pasir Gudang.

At least a squadron of rotary wing aircraft and short/vertical take off and landing aircraft..consisting of 18 aircraft each can be accommodated within the ship hangar below deck or on the flat tops..

Plans shows that the navy would be using the NH-90 for ASuW and the Su-30V/MKM as it principle aircraft.

The primary role of the NFH version is autonomous anti-submarine warfare (ASW) and anti-surface unit warfare (ASuW), mainly from naval ships. These aircraft are equipped for day and night, adverse weather and severe ship motion operations.

Who said this chopper is too expensive..it selling cheap on Mega Sale this year...

Additional roles include anti-air warfare support, vertical replenishment (VERTREP), search & rescue (SAR) and troop transport.

Meanwhile..the Su-30V/MKM are also inducted as part of the fleet area defense initiatives to protect the fleet from any aerial and surface threat.

Equipped with IBLIS-II radar system...all european weapons are intergrated with the Russo-Malayan built fighter which now is capable of carrying weapons from firm such as MBDA...something other Sukhoi operators doesnt have anda cant do yet...

I’m going to give my thoughts on it and highlight certain points in italics, the intro is purely hyperbole and by the way if they wanted serious endorsements for the book, I’m surprised nobody ask the defence journalists in the country to review/comment/endorse J, guess we are not credible enough, ha-ha, anyway this para made me laugh:

What RM1b Can Buy

Most of us do not realize the proportion of the country’s wealth being spent on arms, the commissions being paid for arms and in many cases, questionable purchases of such arms. Compare that with the gross shortage of schools and hospitals, public transport and other social services that so many Malaysians face and the obscenity of it all can be clearly seen.

For example, RM1 billion worth of arms is equivalent to building at least 100 hospitals or 1000 new schools or 10,000 new houses. Do you know that since Independence in 1957 – after more than 50 years - there has not been a single new Chinese or Tamil primary school built? In fact we had more Chinese and Tamil primary schools then (1,350 and 880 respectively) compared to the present (1285 and 550 schools respectively). And the population at Independence was only half what it is today!

But in one weekend alone in April 2010, the BN Government could justify spending RM10 billion on arms at the Kuala Lumpur Defence Fair. With that money, we could have built 1000 hospitals or 10,000 schools or 100,000 houses! The Tenth Malaysia Plan (2011-15) has allocated RM23 billion for defence and security.

Ok interesting that it mentions a portion of country’s wealth spent on arms but doesn’t throw in the fact, course that could be in the book, anyway we only spent around 2% of GDP on defence annually, as it is there’s a failure to mention that not all of the RM23 billion is actually spent on the armed forces, it says defence and security which includes the Police, MMEA, Home Affairs etc, at end of the day defence will probably only account somewhere around RM15 billion or so.

Now we get into silly calculations that we if don’t buy arms we can build schools, houses, hospital etc, are we absolutely certain that such will occur, besides at end of day, there’s no saying the government won’t waste the money elsewhere. The other problem is that the money spent on defence is an insurance policy against the umpteen billions we could lose if we lose sovereignty over country or our natural resources, something all the idiots never take into account.

Yes we can spend so much building everything for the people by not buying weapons but kinda pointless if they all get bombed etc because we don’t have any weapons to arm ourselves with.

As for the Chinese/Tamil primary schools, can we please show directly a link between defence spending and such not being built, there are so many reasons that this could have happened, and btw what happened to Malaysian Malaysia or whatever the pro-Pakatan groups like to say, are not ethnic based schools divisive? Sometimes some people speak with forked tongue if you ask me.

As for 10 billion at DSA, true but it’s not every weekend (and actually it was from Mon-Thurs so it’s in course of less than a week actually) but end of the day it looks like a large amount but keep in mind that 7-8 billion of that is the AV8 program which is going to be spread over several years and many of the contracts similarly will be spread over several years, the other problem is that military equipment is always expensive, no escaping that especially when we have to import and our exchange rate isn’t good.

New Generation Fast Attack Craft - NGFAC KD LIGAN

Langkawi : RMN received sixteen New Generation Fast Attack Craft (NGFAC) with combatant capabilities here today from the Bustad Naval Shipyard in the launching ceremony of Ligan class Fast Attack Amphibious Assault Craft at RMN Mawilla 3.

KD Ligan is the RMN new assymetrical and non-conventional naval combatant specially design for hit and run tactics against enemy larger naval combatant under the PUKULCURI programme which had adopted Iranian kamikaze speedboat hit and run tactic but only in a much larger and faster scale.

RMN in news conference held after the ceremony stated that the craft powered by 3 Kusnetsov K-117E combined diesel and gas turbine engine is capable of moving at 75 knots and armed with 16 anti ship cruise missile. Limited flood deck were also available for amphibious landing where it can accomodate 4 MBT`s or 8 APC`s for amphibious assault operations.

"We proposed the ship design few years back as littoral combat ship but we saw it potential as assault craft and an amphibious assault craft in one package when Bustad personnel said it can be done." said RMN spokesmen.

When asked about the type of Anti Ship Missile used onboard the craft..he said all launchers are EXOCETS MM40 inclined forward Russian style...

Secondary weapon system includes Aspide Octuple Launcher for air defence and CIWS for close defence.

The indtroduction of Ligan class FAAAC had greatly increase RMN amphibious assault and support capabilities while at the same time expands its growing offshore patrol fleets to a total of 75 main surface naval combattant.

mmm im bored. So last week i was invited to 8TV The SHOUT! AWARDS 2010 by a friend. (thanks shaza will post your picture later)

So what The SHOUT! AWARDS 2010 have got to do with military? not an iota. Anyway i got a VIP ticket but didnt get to seat at the VIP seat. I also took some picture but thanks to my current situation, cant upload it. The picture are inside the external hardisk and the hardisk are inside the car.. which mean outside the house. So since i was fucking locked in the house. I cant upload the picture. Bodo punya Amer.

So the show are great! I only concentrate on some of the awards.. aaa such as HOT CHICK AWARD. But i really cant relate the show with military. Although theres a lot of CHAFF and FLARE thrown around and also some super soldier in GILDED GOLD (which is WEIRD)

There... you see? chaff was dispensed during the show. Its that glitering thingy in the air.

more sketches. I m currently trapped inside my friend house. I woke up this morning only to find out everyone was gone and they lock the doors and take the keys with them. To make things worse.. there are no phone chargers in the house and my phone are dead.

SU-30 MKM goes VTOL

The SU-30V/MKM is the short takeoff and vertical landing (STOVL) variant of the aircraft. Similar in size to the SU-30MKM variant, it sacrifices some fuel volume to make room for the vertical flight system. Takeoffs and landing with vertical flight systems are by far the riskiest, and in the end, a decisive factor in design. Like the AV-8B Harrier II, the V guns will be carried in a ventral pod.

The V variant will also have cyber attack capabilities where the IBLIS radar is used to insert attack codes into remote systems.

The Sukhoi design for the V includes six IBLIS arrays for all around coverage. It able to fried a human brain 200km from source. The team has been awarded a $42 billion contract to develop their design based on IBLIS strength with broadband electronically steerable antenna arrays. At the same time contracts were also awarded to Sapura and CTRM
