Bernama TV Cameraman Killed In Somalia Shooting

Noramfaizul Mohd Nor the BERNAMA Cameraman was fatally shot near the K4 area. Semoga Arwah di cucuri rahmat.

Mystery also surrounds the alleged shooting, tough question must be ask. Who is responsible? what is the motives? What kind of weapon used? does the bullet extracted from the body and analyzed?

The AU troops manning their base near the K4 was also being accused. Who actually saw them shoot?

AU soldiers from Burundi with a PKM allegedly shot Faizul
Burundi troops base near the K4 junction. Does the shot came from here?
Some source says a 7.62 x 54 russian made bullet killed Faizul. The 7.62×54mmR is a rimmed rifle cartridge introduced as a service cartridge in 1891 by the Russian Empire.... originally this bullet was designed for a Mosin Nagant Rifle... a sniper rifle. This year, the cartridge reached the 120 years in service mark.

Currently this bullet are only used in a Russian made or copy PKM Machine Gun. The Kalashnikov's Machine-gun Modernized or PKM are also used by the AU troops in Somalia, coincidentally this weapon also can be easily found in the hand of the militant.

The PKM (ПК Модернизированный: "Kalashnikov's Machine-gun Modernized") is the current model. It is a modernized, product-improved version of the PK weighing only 7.5 kg without ammunition

So does  Faizul was shot by a PKM machine gun? Unfortunately i also gather some conflicting information that made this theory rather shaky.

Firstly witnesses said they heard two very loud shot. Now, a PKM only have two type of fire selection, that is ' safe ' and ' full auto '. Even with a controlled busrt, it almost impossible to only fire 2 shot from a PKM. The only other weapon available that used 7.62 x 54 bullet are G3 battle rifle and SVD Dragunov.

Now read this, on August 4, Somali journalist Farah Hassan Sahal of Radio Simba was shot by a sniper also near the K4 area. This happen just a month ago. The National Union of Somali Journalists or NUSOJ accused the AMISOM as the culprit. Is this a coincedence?

I would not speculate further, please do read a better analysis here in MILITARY OF MALAYSIA blog.
