The Malaysian Defense ministry nominated the Malaysian company DRB-Hicom Defence Technologies (Deftech) a prime contractor to locally produce and supply 257 armored personnel carriers based on the Turkish 8x8 Pars wheeled armored vehicle. The Pars, developed and produced developed by the Turkish company FNSS is based on a design made by the U.S. company GPV. The value of the Malaysian 'letter of intent' is worth over worth about US$2.5 billion. Deliveries will span over seven years. The prototype APC is expected to be delivered for testing to the Malaysian Army by 2011. Deftech is to build 12 variants from the base vehicle, including personnel carrier, anti-tank weapon carrier, command and control and anti-aircraft weapon vehicles.

The APC version will be equipped with a two-man manned turret to be developed and produced by the South African company Denel. Sapura Thales Electronics (STE) will be the electronics system integrator.

The cost of the new vehicle seems excessively high - about $9.8 million per unit. Malaysian defense officials explained that these figures represent the total life cycle cost of the program, including which usually includes design, development, logistical support and sustainment as well as non-recurring engineering costs and investments associated with the set-up of local production facilities in Malaysia to develop its armored vehicle manufacturing.

Kinetic Energy BAllistic Burst Obliteration Missile (KEBABOM) chosen for RAD Missile Force

Kinetic Energy BAllistic Burst Obliteration Missile (KEBABOM) chosen for RAD Missile Force

by ikansadinmknorang the el kapitan..

Rejimen Artileri Diraja is reported had chosen the Kinetic Energy BAllistic Burst Obliteration Missile (KEBABOM) as its theather ballistic missile battery. The KEBABOM (NATO reporting name SS-31M Seriously) is among the national ballistic missile initiative which had seen various involvement from local varsities, technical college and weapon manufacturers forming the Malaysian Executive Resources Chosen UNilaterally for ROcKETery (MERCUN ROKET)...a GLC consortium responsible in overseeing the progress and development of the KEBABOM initiative.

Pernama is informed that the ballistic missile is a 40-970km range terminal guided theater ballistic missile mounted on a Deftech M4-UT Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL). The M4-UT could carry three KEBABOM missile with the abilty to launch all three simultaneously. The missile 8 kinetic energy warhead capable of separating and bursting simultaneously above target location in mid air to give massive annihilation on a large scale to enemy cities or military installations and concentrations.

The development of the missile began in the late 1999s where the first prototype were built. The first flight test took place on December 20, 2003 on a modified Avibras Astros MLRS launcher before being replaced on Deftech M4-UT TEL vehicle.

It has single solid rocket stages with inertial, autonomous flight control utilizing an onboard GPS receiver. As a solid propellant design, the missile can be maintained on alert for prolonged periods of time and can launch within minutes of being given the order.

According to MERCUN ROKET the missile is designed to be immune to any current or planned U.S missile defence system. It is claimed to be capable of making evasive maneuvers to avoid a kill by terminal phase interceptors, and carries targeting countermeasures and decoys. It is shielded against radiation, EMP, nuclear explosions at distances over 500 meters, and is designed to survive a hit from any laser technology.

KEBABOM....!!!

One of the KEBABOM most notable features is its short engine burn time following take-off, intended to minimize satellite detection of launches and thereby complicate both early warning and interception by missile defense systems during boost phase. The missile also has a relatively flat ballistic trajectory, complicating defense acquisition and interception.

8 missile batteries will be formed under Rejimen Artileri Diraja - Bateri Peluru Berpandu Balistik where each batteries will consist of 12 units of M4-UT Transporter Erector Launcher (TEL) vehicle and 4 control vehicle.Future plans by MERCUN ROKET includes a SLBM version of KEBABOM capable of being carried by RMN Super Scorpene Carrier Submarine the KD Sadinmakanorang and a ALBM version which can be fitted on RMAF Extremely Long Range Heavy Manned Bomber (ELRHMB).

Malaysia Military Power

Secret military development, black project and special operation News. Not for the faint hearted. Given past revelations of previously top secret military technology programs there is a good chance that some 'black' projects somewhere tinker with advanced nanotechnology applications. But, you keepers of military secrets, relax. This Spotlight is not a piece of investigative journalism into the world of military black projects. ........ok almost all are fiction lulz....and dont you know?

Parody
