SEA Games: Malaysia beats Vietnam 1-0 in final

VIENTIANE: Malaysia won the SEA Games football gold after a 20-year lapse when it beat favourites Vietnam 1-0 in the final at the Main Stadium of the National Sports Complex here on Thursday.

The Under-23 side took the game to the Vietnamese in the second half after seeing Vietnam dominate the match in the first 45 minutes.

Malaysia who beat Laos 3-1 in the semi-final had faced an in-form Vietnam who beat Singapore 4-1 in the other semi-final.

The final was the second meeting between the two teams as Vietnam had beaten Malaysia 3-1 in their group match.

Malaysia Fighter/Attack Experiment Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle

The RMAF Malaysia Fighter/Attack Experiment Unmanned Combat Air Vehicle technology demonstration aircraft (MF/A-X UCAV) completed its first flight on 22 January 2008. Multi-aircraft testing will begin in 2010 when a second MF/A-X UCAV becomes operational, leading to joint UCAV and manned exercises in 2012.

The objective of the RMAF MF/A-X UCAV program is to demonstrate the technical feasibility for a UCAV system to effectively and affordably prosecute 21st century Scorch Earth strike missions within the emerging global command and control architecture. The operational UCAV system is envisioned as a force enabler that will conduct total destruction of enemy combat capability.

Tested in Gong Kedak AB Kelantan the MF/A-X UCAV were furnished in the configuration specified before the requirement for thrust reversing was dropped. The weapons bay was configured for weapons launch but no missiles were fired. The first MF/A-X UCAV with A7300 engines supercruised at Mach 1.43 on 18 September 2008 and the second engines reached Mach 1.6 on 29 November 2008.

Super Infantry Standard(SIS)

Super Infantry Standard(SIS) is the mainstay of the Malaysian infantry force in the effort to have a the most powerfull army evah. Its role during peace time is to make war for break fast (for example invading new zealand just for the weekend) and carry out its responsibility during war which is invading distance planet and enslave its natives.

SIS called for a gargantuan but potent force hence it has been equipped with more firepower and mobility. Each battalion should be able to conducts its operation autonomously or as part of a larger formation. This called for battalion level capabilities in battle management, combat intelligent and integrated tactical communication.
